Oh my gosh I was so excited when I saw this post! I know it is a few years old now, but there is so much of what I am experiencing in this post! I recently had a CT scan because I am having pain in my vagina ever since I had my daughter 2 and a half years ago! Sometimes feels like knife if up me and I can not walk at times. I also only a few times have where my vagina itches so bad. It is terrible, and I read that this can be a sign of Candida too.I do notice that sometimes it is related to my bowels and at time when I am having the pain in my vagina if I have a feeling I need to have a bowel movement, the pain stops my body from it happening! I am constipated a lot and find it hard often to have a bowel movement. I have stomach pains almost always. And I have gas all the time! I was told years ago that I needed to do a Candida cleanse because I was having many symptoms and I ignored it then. And now I am looking at this again and thinking/knowing I need to do a cleanse and change the way I eat. I took the Candida questionnaire on here and I was 213, so way high, I must have Candida right? I have become more and more light headed and dizzy lately and have a feeling of just not being able to keep things straight in my head. I have also had vision problems. I have had neck problems over the 16 years since and accident 16 years ago. I go to a chiropractor and she is always in shock how long my neck does not hold! She is the one that mentioned looking at a Candida cleanse again. She feels there is something especially when the pelvic pain I am having and the urinating problems I am having. I go pee at least every hours and something every half hour, depending on my water intake. I feel I pee out everything I drink! And how am I suppose to stay hydrated this way? And reading in these forums I am seeing that frequent urine problem can be caused by Candida? Like I said I was sent for a CT scan and everything is "normal.: But they still cant explain the pain. As staniegirl said I have the same feeling that everything in going to fall out in my vaginal area and the muscle are always contracting! I think I have pelvic floor tension myalgia as well, I have been researching this the past week. But my gyno wants to send me to a urologist, but I dont know how they will help me? I dont feel it will help me. I need to go ahead with this detox but I am a little scared! It is really a life change and with a toddler, husband and working 6 days a week I am worried of failing! And I dont know where to start!? The diet yes, but what to eat/make? And especially for a family! I am allergic to almonds and eggs and this seems to be in a lot of the food ideas. Or will these food allergies go away when I do the Candida cleanse?
Straniegilr thanks for this post and I hope you are doing well! I would love to hear if you pelvic pain is gone and if so for how long? And other symptoms you might have.
And anyone else with some advice, thoughts or anything to push me forward, if you are thinking I am moving in the right directoin with Candida cleanse.

It took a while and several doctors to figure out, but I was finally diagnosed with pelvic floor tension myalgia. It's basically a more rare type of pelvic floor dysfunction, where the pelvic muscles have gone into spasm and shortened. One of the many possible symptoms is vaginal burning/vulvodynia. They were sure it was yeast related due to the burning and that it started after a yeast infection, but all tests came out negative. They still tried to treat me for yeast, but I stopped taking the medicine or following the candida the diet. They also thought I had interstitial cystitis, but I don't. The only thing that helped is internal vaginal physical therapy. You have to make sure you find a physical therapist who treats this type of pelvic floor dysfunction and make sure they are well seasoned. Some are much better than others. I had to find a urologist who specialized in pelvic floor dysfunction to diagnose me and refer me to the PT. I had a bad case of it that came on suddenly, and many many painful symptoms including vaginal burning, vaginal itching at times, painful intercourse, rectal spasms, feeling of constantly full bladder even when it wasn't, burning when urinating, very very tender abdomen where i couldn't even touch it. The burning does get worse after a bowel movement, and many times I will feel shooting pains in the vagina. It felt like something was stuck in there, and at times it felt like glass was stuck in my urethra. I was in so much pain I couldn't do anything. Nothing relieved the pain. After I started physical therapy the symptoms started to subside. WHen i have them they are very manageable, and many times I don't have any symptoms at all. I was in PT for almost 2 years before getting pregnant, so now I can't do PT during pregnancy because of some other complications. I have the burning on and off, mostly from the doctor using a speculum to do pelvic exams, but for the most part I am pain free. This is a very underdiagnosed condition as the symptoms mimic infections. I just wanted to respond in case any one else was going through something similar and looking for answers.
