Soak overnight equal parts of *oats (you could also try other kinds of flakes i.e. rye, if your still in the preliminary stage) and milk (rice, soy or whichever you prefer). Add a little salt and put in the refrigerator.
Make cakes and fry in the pan until golden. At first it looks like they won't stick but be patient. Once they are ready, I usually sprinkle a little stevia on top and eat with organic natural yogurt*! YUMMY!!!!!!
