I love those times when my larder is empty before a grocery store run, and I'm feeling desperate and creative. The closest thing to the taste would be a not-so-creamy root beer float.
2/3 glass rice milk (or coconut)
1/3 glass sparkling mineral water
splash of cranberry juice (if it's around)
2 tsp wondercocoa* (to taste) (TLC recommends using raw, organic cocoa powder instead-if tolerated)
1/2 tsp stevia (to taste)
Pour some of the milk into a glass with the wondercocoa* and stevia, and heat it briefly so that it mixes smoothly. Pour in the rest of the milk and add a couple of ice cubes to cool it back down. Mix in the juice and sparkling water (Be careful, some brands are stronger and will fiz over when stirred! To avoid this, wait to add in the ice and make sure all dry ingredients are thoroughly mixed so that you don't have to stir it that much). Test for and adjust the sweetness, then add more ice to desired temperature.
