Re: Want to see if this is Right For Me (Advice!!)

Okay, so looking back, that post was a little too long... I think it would be easier.to just post my questions: 1. What macronutrients are recommended? Percentage of carb, fat, protein. 2. How many calories, carbs and sugar is recommended? 3. Will this diet help with weight loss even though I have already been eating healthy (stalled)? 4. How long will it take to see symptoms improved? Constipation, circulation, allergies, fatigue, bloating, digestion of fats, hypoglycemia... 5. Does the...

Hi there Madison, Welcome to the forum. I invite you to visit our welcome post to learn more about the products and information available here. Here is a post that addresses the very common question, "How long will it take me to get well?" When you look at the diet section (click on 'diet' above), you'll see we do not count carbs here, rather we look at the quality and impact of the foods and divide them into categories. Our instructions regarding the use of these categories are designed...

Hi there, Sounds like such an adventure. Wonderful, and you've got more going for you than many people would so I'm hopeful with you that you will indeed be able to make your trip this year. The Garden of Life Raw Protein Powder- beyond organic- is the one I've used. No sweeteners. No vegetables, lots of powdered sprouts. You'll be wise to use two or three different protein powders and rotate. Then again, I'd give some careful thought to replacements for the most problematic foods that are...

Hi Kriss, If you are free of cell towers and mostly free of electricity where you will be and if you have clean water, and can stay free of insect born diseases and the drugs you need to deal with them, you might be surprised how much you can heal in a natural environment. It sure would be good to avoid sugar though and perhaps the dried foods you'll have will be sweet? Do you have camping stores that sell dehydrated foods? Will you be with people who know how to wild forage and hunt in the...

We will be storing our most of our food in "the arc" - the place we will be using as a base camp. The powders should be fine, the bars may will prob only last 2 months. We will get most of our food in Nicaragua but much of my food will be taken with us from the states. Beans and rice are the big ones, we're not really doing much in the way of dry food because-like you said- its too humid to last that long. No camp stores, we'll be in a developing country and will have to travel into Port to...

It sounds like you're on the right track and that you're aware of your options when you get there. I would imagine there are only a handful of people in any society who actually know about gathering any wild foods but you might still find someone there if you have your ears open. The unsweetened Garden of Life raw powder vega brand protein powder are both good and will need extra dessicants. There are very few bars if any that are not loaded with sugar. For healthy starch, I'm not sure what...

We wont be able to take any fruits or vegetables there with us but I will be able to get cabbage once in a while. Besides that I pretty much have to eat the rice and beans because my doctor is calling my condition a yeast sensitivity not candida (even tho I'm 100% sure its candida) and is allowing rice and most beans in my food list. I will look into the coconut flour and if I can bring it. Thanks for the advice!

I did find something called YOU BAR that I was thinking of bringing as well as THE ULTIMATE MEAL shake. Both are candida friendly so I can live off those for a while.

Thanks Tarilee! I have been fasting on and off for 3 years. At my absolute worst, when I had no Idea it was candida and I was just one big swollen, acne, dermatitis, severe allergic reacting mess, I turned to fasting. It helped a lot, I just have trouble with the re-feeding part of fasting. I think maybe a wheatgrass fast if water fasting healing crisis gets to be to hard on my system. I did not know they had a unsweetened Garden of Life! I noticed the sugar and asparagus, carrots, and other...

NEW, Stranded in the Jungle, what do I bring?

Hey, I just found out I have candida. I am going to Nicaragua to do humanitarian work in a month and it looks like a lot of the foods we'll be eating down there  are foods I can't have. I dont know what to do. I'll be there for 4 months...
