Re: How do I begin? I feel overwhelmed.

Oh my goodness Jkennedy! This sounds oh so familiar. Like my condition a little over a year ago. My blood had alcohol poisoning from a half a beer in March of 2011, my urine was clear because my kidneys were not cleaning the urea out of my blood (going back into my bloodstream), I had leaky gut syndrome (brain fog, loss of balance, distention, gas, abdominal pain, headaches, & inability to stay awake) for a couple hours each time right after eating. I had joint flare ups, allergies...

Hi JK, Welcome to Whole Approach. That sounds like an all too familiar nightmare and I completely empathize with your frustration about not getting a full explanation or solution when asking our health professionals. MD's are seldom trained in environmental, nutritional and mind body health and most do not understand candida overgrowth problems. I'm not sure what your diet and lifestyle were like before or during this downward spiral but I assure you that the food therapy and product...

Hi Jkennedy, Tarilee won't be back on until Thursday night or Friday?? I can tell you from my experience, for the first 10 weeks I worked on the DIET ONLY. No multi-vitamins because my body could not handle those, no anti-fungals, strictly taking the foods lists to the store, reading labels, following recipes, and building up my strength. My organs were very weak when I started. I did NOT have any die off from changing the diet. You will simply not be feeding the candida so it will not...

hi barbiezoo, thank you SO MUCH for all this great information!! i took my phone along with me & did my first wholeappraoch diet grocery shopping. thank goodness for your suggestions as it is a completely different grocery list then what i'm used to. i'm not sure if my symptoms are normal, but i'm only on day 2 of the diet and woke up feeling REALLY drained, almost like i am coming down with a bad cold or something. my stomach has been feeling a bit strange as well & not to bee too...

hello barbie + tarilee! thank you so much for your quick response. it really does make me feel at ease knowing that i'm not going through this alone. also, thank you barbie for sharing your experience! all this time i had a deep gut feeling that this was not all 'in my head' or 'caused only through stress'. knowing that others have been able to find a solution to their health problems reassures me & i only hope that this is what is causing all this havoc on my body! all fingers &...

Water-when they were treating our tap water with extra chlorine to clean out pipes, I started to boil my water. BUT I always used ONLY the distilled water form my anit-funagls ingestion and purge drinks!!!! VERY IMPORTANT. But for drinking water, I used Brita filtered tap water. But boiled it while they did the treatment. Try boiling water, bring to a rolling boil for one full minute. This should be good for drinking, but Tarilee will know better on that! This is from a serving size post...

Hi all, Barbie-Zoo it is good to see you back on-line. I hope each day you are feeling better. Thanks for the serving size info; I guess what I am asking is how many servings of nuts is "ok" in one day?? Jkennedy, I just went through the upper and lower GI scopes that you mentioned and they found nothing. The only other thing my GP just suggested was for me to see an infectious disease MD. I really think they won't find anything new but am willing to try. I will go back to the ND in a few...

hi corinna-corinna! thank you for the clarification. everything is so new & i feel so consufed eventhough i'm trying hard not to get too overwhelmed with all the details. i'm going to be going market shopping today so i'll definitely be taking your advice with finding the right ingredients. i know what you mean by cravings! i think for myself, my cravings have been mostly in the morning & trying to figure out something to substitute by "bread". i've baked a simple almond biscuit that...

Hey Barbiezoo, Glad to hear from you. You have no idea how helpful all your tips are to those of us that are new at this. As I've said, soaking, sprouting, being intuitive enough during baking to know what to change/add...these things do not come naturally to me. I have learned so much from reading everyone's posts but am so grateful for the time you and Tari-lee have spent trying to answer my specific questions. The nuts I was asking about are on the green list. I have tried soaking them...

Re: How do I begin? I feel overwhelmed.

Nuts: I just was a fraid of eating too many nuts in one day; Do you recommend rotating the nut you eat each day? Nuts are best spaced out to a couple of times a week until you're really confident you are preparing them in the best way for the health of your digestion and overall health. Seeds are generally easier on the system, especially if sprouted but of course are not as tempting or practical as snacks. A dehydrator for veggie-seed crackers is one fun way and they can be quite simple.

Re: How do I begin? I feel overwhelmed.

Hi Corinna-Corinna, Happy MUnDay!!! For the first 6 or 7 months of my diet, the ONLY item I did NOT rotate was the goat yogurt until I had an "allergic reaction" to it a few months into my diet. It took about 3 days to realize that's what I was having a reaction to. I ate it almost everyday for a bout a week (was not able to get to grocery store for a couple of days so I thought it should be okay to snack on that). And OH BOY!! was I wrong. There were some foods I did not rotate every four...

** a little site note ** i just received my order of the nunaturals liquid stevia from WA & just tried it with my usual afternoon drink of unsweetened cranberry juice / perrier & WOW!!! what a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! i've been using a powder stevia that i bought from the store this whole time and with the it's aftertaste, have been feeling a bit bummed that it was more like cooking/eating artificial sugar. i am SO HAPPY with this product! no weird aftertaste... just pure sweetness.

i was hoping to be able to add this question to my previous post, but can't seem to find the 'edit' button to change it. 4. I received a reply from a ND who I inquired services about and she replied saying that she does use a Vega Machine, but that it is not the computerized version/original and all tests are done manually. Would this still be considered the same as what is mentioned on the ND request forum topic? She also mentioned that she has found that "with most patients i have to start...

Hi JK, Glad you've discovered the joy of good tasting stevia! The ND you spoke to sounds aware. I would still go through the other questions with her on the post that suggests questions to ask. Maybe you've already done this? A manual vega machine can be powerful in the right hands. You can ask her to look at our protocol and ask her if she would support you in using it along with any complementary supports she would add. While our service here is free service along with product sales, these...

Hi Corinna-Corinna!! Are the nuts you are asking about on the green list or the orange list? The green list is not limited, as needed for your nutritional needs need to be met. Also, important to keep in mind that when you eat too much of a good thing, we can react to it. So you still want to rotate when possible. For breakfast, have you tried the PLAIN goat yogurt by Redwood Hill Farm? You can add NO ALCOHOL vanilla extract and cinnamon, or cranberry and cloves, lemon or lime and stevia,...

Hi everyone, Well there is a whole bunch really great sharing going on here. I'm so glad to see this. I'm going to answer a few of JK's q's but am certain I'll miss some. It's way easier to make sure I see all the q's by putting them clearly at the bottom of your post and numbering them. Best to keep the numbers down to just a few so I can get to questions from everyone in the group within my shift time. Can you tell me more about the foods you're eating and how much of the purge products...

Hey Jkennedy, Barbie has been a tremendous help to me over the past few months also as well as Tari-Lee! I found this site in May and have been learning so much since then. I began 'treating' what I believe to be candida back in April while bouncing from MD to MD. I just finished the last of the 'medical' tests and they have found 'nothing', which is good news and just confirms that it is candida with food intolerances that I am experiencing and that it is up to me and my Naturopath to...

Hey Jkennedy, Just keep posting here, others who are going through the same/similar things are reading and everyone is so supportive. I agree that it is hard when others around you don't understand. My husband is basically very supportive by listening and taking me to different stores, purchasing different supplements, etc... but even the other day he became really frustrated because all of this takes up so much of my time and energy. My mother in law is driving me nuts because she just...

Hi Jkennedy, I am glad you did well so early with the shopping. Many take a little longer to get used to such a list. The only set back I had was taking too much caproyl when I first started. I should have started with the LOWEST dose recommended, but I over estimated my body's strength and did not handle the die off too well. But during just the diet portion, I only noticed things started to change gradually. I noticed my stool changed at some point and looked up (okay, this is strange to...

(i apologize for so many!) i've been buying and drinking bottled water that is BPA free and all that fancy stuff, but is filtered tap water ok? i notice that there was a strange smell when i drink it even after the filtration, but after having it run for a bit, it seems to get better. i sometimes wondered if i started getting ill because of the tap water? i'm not sure. it's a high grade charcoal filter / fabric filter combo. there is also a separate...

Re: Where am I in the detox process ?

Tarilee ·
Hi Howard, Welcome to the Whole Approach forum. You've had a most difficult series of health challenges. I'm so sorry to hear of all you've been going through. I certainly can't say one way or the other if candida overgrowth could be a causative factor in your issues. However many people with chronic health problems also do have issues with yeast or fungus. I have no way of knowing, as you say, what 'stage of detox' you are at. Do you have a holistic MD or a naturopathic physician who helps...

Where am I in the detox process ?

I have been intermittently ill for 58 years My best years were when I was being properly nourished by my wife. I have suffered from the symptoms of Asthma.    multiple triggers,  mould, petro chemical fumes, cold air, dog and cat dander, dust and  dust mites and what I didn't know food intolerances. as a child I was sat in front of an open coal fire and placed out on a cold street In a very busy leaded petrol environment. hello! after many years of rollercoaster-like health & many many doctor visits/specialists/naturopaths/alternative medicine methods, i think i've found what it is that is making me sick. just a little background information: at 10, i experienced intense stress which caused me to become anorexic for 2 years which led to having a sensitive stomach. at 19, i experienced my first full blown anxiety attack & continue to deal with it. at 23, had my first episode of UTI followed...
